Because I'm Raising a House of Insomniacs...

and the entire household was up in the 5 o'clock hour, I am able to update my blog before Kinsley goes to school. These are some pretty random pictures but we've had a pretty random few days. The weather has been so so. Kinsley was able to practice on her bike in the church parking lot across the street and is nailing it. Hopefully today we will be able to get out there for some pictures. Colby is a speed demon on his trike as well. We are all super excited about finding out the sex of Baby Brennan #3 on Thursday AND the fact that Mimi and Pops will be here that day too. Kinsley has "cheer camp" on Sunday which should be interesting and Justin is pumped because we have Super Bowl plans already. So on with the randomness....

We've been playing lots of games lately and one of Kinsley's favorites is the princess jewelry game. You earn different pieces of jewelry until you get the entire ensemble (earrings, bracelet, necklace, ring, crown). It's hilarious to watch the male portion of the house play.

Bathroom redo

As I mentioned before, Justin worked (tirelessly) all weekend on updating the vanity in our master bath. Here are the before and afters.

First Houston Zoo Trip and More

Last Friday was absolutely gorgeous here and luckily we had planned an outing to the zoo with friends. We all enjoyed the trip. The kids looked at the animals, rode the carousel, had a picnic, and went on a train ride. We were there with 3 other 4 year olds and 2 other 2 year olds so there weren't too many pictures that worth anything.

I bought my first King Cake the other day. I'm pretty sure I can blame the bakery impulse buy on my pregnancy hormones. I had never had one before so I figured it would be either really good or really bad. Score!!! It was raspberry filled and the bomb!

Thank goodness for nice weather!

The weather is finally nice in south Texas! I'm sure we're in for more cold but lately it's been in the 70's and we've tried to take advantage of the nice weather. Of course by this first picture no one would believe it. This is the kids daily routine 30 minutes before nap time. They both LOVE Calliou and spend the entire episode in complete and utter silence..aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh.

I wanted to get a picture of Kinsley in her red "Dorothy" shoes before school. For some reason, she felt that she should be holding them in the picture instead of wearing them.

The other night we tried out her new Easy Bake oven. I forgot how little the dessert were. Her cake was the size of a cookie but her and Colby loved it anyway.

Just stuff

So I was going to post the rest of the Christmas pictures from my mom's (and I still might) but I realized most anybody that reads this has already seen them. So here are a few pics from lately. We are slowly recovering from the frigid temperatures from last week. I hated even leaving the house when it was that cold. We made it to story time at Wendy's and have a playdate scheduled later this week so we are slowly coming out of our cocoon.

And this monstrosity is finally out of our lives for good. Justin and I had to stare at this for six long months while lying in bed before we replaced it. And I just had to snap a picture to prove how ugly they made ceiling fans. Can you believe someone picked this up out of our trash?

Christmas

We returned from Mimi's house on Saturday where we had a week long vacation (especially for me). The kids enjoyed their extended stay and the massive amount of toys they got. I retired my camera for the week so pics at Mimi's will have to come later when she emails me some. Our Christmas in Houston was obviously different from Christmas's in the past. It was very relaxed and low key. Christmas Eve morning we went to the children's service at church followed by a birthday party for Jesus. It was very cute, quick, and kid appropriate. As Justin said, it really put you in a mood for celebration and reiterated the true meaning of Christmas.

Later Christmas Eve, we had our yummy steak dinner and made brownies for Santa.
