Rainforest Cafe' and a Halloween Party

Last weekend, Justin and I decided we would surprise the kids with a trip to the Rainforest Cafe' at the Galleria. Neither one of the kids had ever been before, so they were on jungle overload. Colby got a little scared at first when it would "rain" but by the end of dinner he was squealing with the gorillas.

The other day I heard the kids in the playroom playing doctor/dentist. Kinsley was the doctor/dentist and she kept calling Colby "Hon."

Old McDonald's Farm

Since fall finally arrived to southeast Texas, we spent lots of time this weekend outside. Saturday we did lots of yard work i.e pulling 20 year old bushes out of the front flower bed and raking 3 huge bags of leaves. Sunday after church we headed to Old McDonald's Farm. I had passed the farm several times and a couple of friends had mentioned it as a place to go. The kids had a blast, but I have to say I was a little disappointed. Justin is pretty sure all the animals were heavily sedated. Which actually was fine with me since the last thing I want my kids to be on is a new episode of "When Animals Attack, Farm Edition." Besides the sedated animals, the train broke down twice while we were there...once when we were on it. Other than that it was just okay, I miss my Cedar Hill farms in MS though. Next year we decide we were going to suck it up and drive the 45 minutes to the real farm across town.

Since I felt a little jipped, we took the kids to Marble Slab Creamery after the farm.
