One of the many projects on our new house's to do list was to paint our kitchen cabinets. They were ugly and worn and kinda gross. I had thought we might paint them sometime this winter when we were bored enough to say something like, "Man, I'm so bored. Why don't we knock out those cabinets?". Apparently my husband had other ideas. So this weekend we painted the dreaded, ugly cabinets and I love, love, love my new kitchen.

Weekend in the OB

We had a wonderful time hanging out with our family and friends back in MS this past weekend. The kids got completely spoiled (which was totally expected). We just wish we could have stayed longer.

I took this last week at home of the kids dancing to Barney.

Kinsley asked me to straighten her hair before dance last week. She was totally feeling the look!

I cannot believe it is already the middle of September! Where has the time gone? Kinsley is finally getting settled into school after getting sick on the FIRST day and having to miss the rest of the week. She loves going to dance and is starting to make new friends. I'm loving my alone time with Colby. Now that he's talking more, I'm finding that he is as funny as his sister. 

Ironically two of the first people we met were MSU alumni and were able to watch MSU's 1st football game with other fans (Justin was beyond pumped!). We're getting ready for our first trip back to OB and everyone is crazy excited around here. Here's a few pics of my crazy kids from the past few days.

Labor Day, 1st day of school, and kids say the darnest things

We decided to spend Labor Day by the pool and relax before Kinsley had to gear up for school on Tuesday. We hung out lazily by the pool all day and then I cooked ribs (for the first time!) for dinner. It was a much need break from painting.

Sassy

Yesterday was Kinsley's first day of 4 year pre-k. She was so excited that morning and did great when we got to school. When I picked her up I knew something was wrong. She was quiet and said she had a headache....well she had caught some kind of bug. She's feeling a little better today and I'm hoping by tomorrow she'll be ready to go back.

I was worried Colby would be lonely with Kinsley at school but I think he enjoyed getting all my attention!

So I have to post a couple of things the kids have said recently mainly so I will remember them.

The other day at the breakfast table (we always have funny conversations over breakfast) Kinsley says, "Tragically Colby was born without a brain." The child is hilarious.

This morning Colby had dumped a whole bowl of cereal on the floor and the dog (I told you something always happens at breakfast). As I was cleaning it up (very calmly I might add), Colby says, "Calm down Mommy. Calm down!" Seriously he's two!
