Old McDonald's Farm

Since fall finally arrived to southeast Texas, we spent lots of time this weekend outside. Saturday we did lots of yard work i.e pulling 20 year old bushes out of the front flower bed and raking 3 huge bags of leaves. Sunday after church we headed to Old McDonald's Farm. I had passed the farm several times and a couple of friends had mentioned it as a place to go. The kids had a blast, but I have to say I was a little disappointed. Justin is pretty sure all the animals were heavily sedated. Which actually was fine with me since the last thing I want my kids to be on is a new episode of "When Animals Attack, Farm Edition." Besides the sedated animals, the train broke down twice while we were there...once when we were on it. Other than that it was just okay, I miss my Cedar Hill farms in MS though. Next year we decide we were going to suck it up and drive the 45 minutes to the real farm across town.

Since I felt a little jipped, we took the kids to Marble Slab Creamery after the farm.
Action shot
You know she picked the biggest, sugar coated cone they offer.
Picking out their pumpkins.
When we got home, we realized Kinsley's was rotted.

Riding on the rope swing in the hay barn. This actually looked like a lot of fun.

The baby goats were the cutest!

The clearly sedated deer.

Which is the bigger turkey?

I snapped this shot of a peacock from the train.
Right before it broke down.
On the train before it left.

These pictures obviously aren't from the farm, but from our house. Which can feel like a zoo most days.

K and London were cold.
Look closely.
London's wearing a pink scarf and a blanket.
Relaxing after working a grueling puzzle.

Who cares if the animals were juiced up? That picture with the deer is so sweet...they look like the "Deer Whisperers"!!
We went to the pumpkin patch this weekend too! I wish I had gotten so many good pics like you did...Anderson was not in the mood to pose!
