A Lot

That's the only way I can describe the past few weeks. It seems like this month has lasted forever. Sadly since I last blogged, Justin's dad lost his brief battle with cancer. That was tough. It also seems like Justin has been traveling more as well. We also had a special 6th birthday in our house and a weekend of celebrating. Luckily the weather has been great so we've also spent lots of time outside. Please excuse the red eye in the pics. I forgot to edit before I uploaded them.

That night we had our 2nd annual "Boys cook for the Girls dinner."

This year Kinsley designed her own dress.

After dinner, we had to have dancing.

Mimi and Pops came into town this weekend and help celebrate Kinsley's 6th birthday!

Saturday we had the Parisian "Ooh La La" party.

Saturday night, Kinsley opened all her gifts from the MS family.

Sunday we went to Chuck E Cheese for more celebrating.

Then we headed to Build A Bear so she could use her gift card.

It was nice while it lasted

I think we may have had the best weather ever this weekend and earlier this week. We played outside, went on bike rides, and snacked by the pool.

Now we are expecting 2 to 4 inches of snow! That is crazy in these parts.

Hadley is at a great age. She doesn't move and is content to look around at everything.

This day I could not pay her to look at me though.

I wonder where she gets it from. Hmmmm....

Winter, WInter Go Away

We are ready for Spring!

It's actually really nice outside today and after Hadley's nap we WILL be outside playing. With half the house getting over their colds and the other half getting a cold, we've spent a lot of time in the house lately. I'm ready for regular warm weather which for us should be here in a month or so.

Okay the story behind this picture.

The other day during nap time I was on the phone with a friend when the older kids came barreling down the stairs in their bathing suits. I mumbled something to my friend about the kids being in their suits. She suggested I throw them in the tub and that's what I did.

The kids thought it was hilarious that I let them do it. Plus it was a special treat since they are now too old to bathe together sans bathing suits.

We've had several photo shoots since we've been cooped up.

This is proof to my mom that Kinsley does play with the American Girl doll she bought her.

Kinsley's been really into her dolls lately. Bathing, dressing, and dropping them at school (or day care for Fancy Nancy since she isn't old enough for school yet). I even have to pick them up from school. On Tuesday I forgot to pick them up (which consists of moving them across her room to her bed) because K had dance that afternoon. Kinsley informed me however that they were in the YMCA aftercare program on Tuesdays....Whew!

Kinsley has had so much fun with Hadley lately.

Today they had a tea party.

Playing Inside

Last week was cold, really cold for us. We had to play inside the whole week but we did make one trip to the church's indoor playground (love that place).

I've been trying to learn my new camera so we had an impromptu photo shoot one day with Hadley.

Colby came in the room and the photo shoot was all over.

It was play time!

Colby was going on a vacation and had loaded all his animals on his bed.

I know this is like the 50th picture of Hadley with her kitchen.

This is her discovering how to make the sink work and Kinsley begged me to take a pic.

I was trying to get a picture of Hadley sleeping but I woke her up. Oops!

Justin thought this was hilarious.

I think we have different senses of humor.

Monster Jam

Last Saturday, Justin and Colby went to Monster Jam with a friend of ours and their son.

The boys had a blast and Colby came home talking all about Gravedigger.

On the other hand, us girls all hung out and went to a "girlie" restaurant and then came home and did the little ones nails.

The boys had pit passes for before the show so they could get up close with the trucks.

So excited!

It has been really cold here this week so we've had to stay inside and play.

On Sunday afternoon, Colby and Kinsley transformed our playroom into their "house."

I'll be glad when this stage is over with and I can get some decent pictures again.

Kinsley wanted me to straighten her hair the other morning, which is a treat for her.

She was also excited to rock the shiny silver leggings from Mimi.

Who else but a 40 lb. kindergartner could pull this look off?

She wanted a black, pink, and white party so we are doing a Parisian themed party.

Kinsley is pumped because one of her new obsessions is Paris the City of Love.

Which makes total sense because she is totally boy crazy.
