My Baby is Turning 2!

This week my sweet Colby will turn two! Where has the time gone? He is turning into such a big boy. Some things I love about my Col-Col:

* At every meal, he reminds us to say the blessing by folding his hands and refusing to eat until we say the blessing. Then he screams, "EAT!" right before we say Amen.

*He says, "Watch" before he does anything and demands you watch him regardless of what he does.

*He loves playing with Kinsley and plays any silly game she makes up.

*He loves to snuggle.

*His feet. They're like tiny bricks and I could eat them.

*His love for Sharkey his stuffed dog and London the real dog.

*He's so good natured despite his bouts with the terrible two's.

I think I could list a million things because he's the best little boy a mama could ask for. Happy birthday my little Colby! We love you!

He finally graduated to making Saturday pancakes with Kinsley and Justin!

We are slowly but surely getting settled in our new house. This past week we painted the den and are now working on the kitchen. We are ready for a much needed painting break and we are going to take that next week when our family comes to town. Here are a few pictures from this week.

The faux brick wall over the toilet paper holder. Again, I forgot to get a "before" of the cabinets in here. They were "oak"ish with some kind of whitewash over them.

Now

My first attempt at painting cabinets (and in this house it won't be my last). They're not perfect but I still love them!

Because I know my mom would want some pictures of the kids.

Officially Texans...

that's right! We have our new Texas drivers licenses and tags so people will stop staring at the MS car at all the stoplights. We are getting settled, still painting, and exploring our new community...which I'm loving more everyday. Today we had a tour of our new church and Kinsley's pre-school. We also walked to our neighborhood park and found the community pool. Everyone is adjusting surprisingly well except for maybe the dog. Here's a few pics from the past week as well as some before and afters of the house. (FYI Kristy, we bought a 5 gallons of primer and I feel quite confident that we will use at least that much by the time that we're done!) Oh and thanks Mimi for the new camera! I'm loving it!

Okay, so here is Colby's room before. I can't believe I don't have a picture of the wall opposite of this one...it had a HUGE mural of a baseball glove.

Kinsley's room before. She requested a pink room so covering this brown was a job. Two coats of primer and three coats of paint!

The kids bathroom before. This picture can't fully justify how bad this was. We had to repaint the bead board, trim, doors, everything. I'm thinking of painting the cabinets next.

One of my favorite parts are the kids personalized towels.

Tomorrow I will try to post an update on another bathroom that we are almost finished with.  The before is great. Imagine a faux brick mural with a faux window above the toilet...Stay tuned!

Crazy Times

It's wild around here. We have been back and forth from Mississippi to Texas over the past few weeks. The kids just spent a fun filled week at Mimi's and I'm pretty sure they were spoiled rotten every minute they were there. I'll post some pics of all their activities from the week soon. Justin, Beau, and I worked tirelessly on getting the new house ready for the movers. I'll update more later when things calm down a little. Please keep us all in your prayers!

It's Gettin' Hot in Here

It has been insanely hot here lately. If we aren't swimming at Mimi's or the Baker's, then we have to play inside. Even though my camera is acting crazy, I managed to get a few pictures of the kids this week.

Kinsley is really into doing everything Mommy does. Tonight she had to take a shower instead of bath, put on her robe, and wrap her hair up. Then she made "lists" at the table.

Oh and a house update! We have a contract on our MS house...hopefully everything goes through!
