We have this long running joke in our house about the "dish fairy." Justin always bragged about a dish fairy that would come and take his dishes out of the sink, load them into the dishwasher, and then unload the dishes and put them away. 

Recently, I do have to give Justin credit because he is getting better.

Skip to this morning. I'm getting ready in the bathroom and Colby brings me his empty sippy cup. I tell him to go put it up (I'm not thinking exactly where...it usually ends up on the floor or under the couch). So I finish getting ready and never think a thing about that sippy cup until hours later when I find it....

Birthday Parties and More

So first I have to say Happy 18 months to my sweet Colby! Man does time fly.

Today was absolutely gorgeous and we spent a lot of time outside getting some much needed fresh air.

On Sunday, we went to an indoor water slide birthday party. Now I was a little apprehensive on the logistics of the whole thing, but it was great. The kids had so much fun. Kinsley played on all the slides and Colby just splashed in the water on the floor.

On Saturday, we had another birthday party at Bounz. The kids had a great time, but I think Colby was either a little tired or thought the inflatables were comfortable.

Also on Saturday I went to a baby shower for my friend Carrie. Since sewing is my new obsession, I made matching dresses for her girls.

Happy Birthday Uncle Brian! We love you!

While I was watching my girl Paula Deen the other day, I saw her make this candy and had to try it. It's a bag of white chocolate chips melted, with 3 cups of peanuts, and 3 cups of slightly broken pretzels. When it hardens and cools, you just break it apart. Soooo easy! Now I don't really care for peanuts or pretzels, but this stuff was good.

On Saturday our local Chik-fil-A had a princess day. You could bring your princess all dressed up and get their make up done, picture taken, and get a free ice cream something. Kinsley got all dressed up and was so excited (I was too). When we got there it was crazy! No parking, people packed in the restaurant, crazy! I suggested we just go through the drive thru and get a milkshake and go visit Uncle Beau. I thought Kinsley would be upset, but no she was cool. I was a little sad though.

Jeremiah 29:11

"For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not disaster, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11

A good friend shared this verse with me a few weeks ago and it couldn't have come at a better time. Since that day, this verse has popped up in different ways almost on a daily basis. So I wasn't too surprised when I opened my daily devotional to find today's verse was Jeremiah 29:11. It is quickly becoming my favorite Bible verse. It's one that can be applied to so many situations in life and quietly reminds me of the One who is truly in charge.

So thank you girl for sharing (and you know who you are)!

Snow Days and Bargain Shopping

We woke up Wednesday morning to snow! Not a lot of snow (and thank goodness no ice) but enough to go outside and play in. The kids ran around the front yard and we made mini snowballs. After about 15 maybe 20 minutes, Kinsley said, "Mom can we please go inside and drink hot chocolate by the fireplace?"

We definitely have a Southern girly girl on our hands.

Anyone that knows me knows that I love to bargain shop. I don't know if it's the economy or post Christmas markdowns, but there are some great deals out there right now. We have a birthday party next week for a friend's little boy that is turning four. I found this GI Joe war thingy for $13. Original price $55! I also got the Sleeping Beauty singing Barbie (with the 3 fairies) for Kinsley's birthday. She's been eyeing that thing every time we go to Target. Original price $19.99, I got it for $6!

And my Windmill Kids order should be arriving any day now. They had amazing deals on their smocked outfits. I got Kinsley a dress, Colby 2 John Johns and swimming trunks for less than $50! Man, I love to shop.
