Happy Halloween!

What a wild day already! The kids are already acting like they have sugar pumping through their veins. We are all excited about trick or treating tonight! Last night we went to trunk or treat at one of the local churches with some friends. Kinsley was Dorothy, Colby was the Scarecrow, and Callie was a Witch, so we had a little Wizard of Oz theme going. Thanks Carrie for letting us borrow the costume. It was a lot of fun and we were really impressed with all of the decorated trunks. Kinsley had a fall festival at school yesterday and the fire truck came to see the kids. Needless to say, she had a big day.

Kinsley had school pictures this week as well. Here are a few I took just in case her mood changed by the time she got to school...these days you never know!

A Family of Picasso's...or not

So as promised here is the beautiful bowl that Kinsley painted at the pottery birthday party. We are so proud of this little bowl, as it is on permanent display in our kitchen. We definitely think there is a future there...

A little back story on this next picture. My mom, Melinda, and I love going to holiday/market shows. Two reoccurring quotes from us the entire time we are there are  "That is so cute/beautiful/gorgeous" followed by "Uh, we could make that." The problem is we never actually try to make anything. Until now. I saw some adorable hand painted girls furniture at the last show we went to, but it was quite pricey. So I decided to try to paint our own using Kinsley's nightstand that she wasn't using. Here is the finished product. I'm not 100% in love with it, but I think I will get better the more I do. So next I'm going to tackle her dresser. We'll see...

Zoo Boo

This past weekend we took the kids to Zoo Boo. Kinsley dressed up as Pocahontas, Colby was an Indian boy, and our friend Callie was a Chinese gymnast. The kids trick or treated, rode the train and carousel, danced at the "disco", and went on a hayride. Everyone had a great time but by far the best part was the dancing. Thanks for the pictures mom! Also, Kinsley went to a friend's birthday party where she got to paint pottery for the first time. I'll post pictures of her pottery bowl when we get it. I'm sure it will be beautiful!!!

More Pictures

We decided to paint our pumpkins this year instead of carving them. Kinsley really enjoyed it and I think Colby liked getting his fingers dirty.

We Have a New Baby!!

What a fun weekend! On Friday night, Brian and Melinda had our entire family over for dinner. It was a lot of fun to hang out with everyone. Kinsley also spent the night with Beau for the first time and did surprisingly well. On Saturday, Justin went to Starkville to see State win. My mom, the kids, and I met the Bakers at the farm. We went on a hayride, looked for the "perfect pumpkin" (per Kinsley), saw the animals, and rode the train. It was a little warm, but we really had a good time. I will try to post some pictures later. On Sunday, we had made an addition to the family.  My parents came back from the flea market with a puppy that we (Kinsley) have now named London. He is a Chinese Crested Powder Puff and is adorable!

We're Blogging Now!

Okay, so I am trying to be hip and start a blog for the family. Our kids are growing up so fast and are keeping us very busy these days. I wanted a way to keep everyone updated on our busy lives. Hopefully this will motivate me to take more pictures too. I am going to attempt to upload some recent pics (I have been having some problems).  More to come.....
